The author was the most famous Transylvanian representative of the late-baroque Hungarian lyric. His main work, "Florinda", is a poetic love story written for ladies, sometimes piquant and smooth. His Latin poems were very popular; his contemporaries even called him "Transylvanian Janus Pannonius".
