A historical novel set in the time of Transylvanian prince Ákos Barcsay, reissued in 1800. The copper engraving depicts the heroine, Julianna Macskási, in elaborate dress. In the preface addressed to „Nemzetem” (My Nation), Dugonics explainsthat by using Hungarian history he sought to foster national sentiment and pride.
Contemporary leather. Spine richly gilt, slightly worn.
