Our copy is exceptional: of three copies given exclusive bindings by Ilona Kiss, this is no. 2. The covers are of rustic, crumpled dark-gold paper over boards, with dark-blue stripes at the edges and medium-grey painted decoration. The wrinkled surface reveals golden highlights. The front cover is decorated with a lead plate, embossed and folded, with coloured textile overlays, ribbons, and attachments. The binding and the text block are joined by gilt and painted ingres endpapers.
