This novel, originally published in Latin in the same year under the title “Leopoldus II. in campo Rákos. Visio Eleutherii Pannonii”, is regarded as the first Hungarian utopian work. The protagonist travels by airship to the Hungary of the future, where everything functions perfectly: Hungarian serves as the language of administration, commerce and agriculture flourish, and the entire population is both educated and devoutly religious. After leaving the Jesuit order, the author became an enthusiastic supporter of Joseph II's reforms.
