Charles III's invitation letter in Latin and German to the Hungarian counties for the national assembly convened in Pozsony on 3 April 1712. The invitation is dated 2 February 1712 and signed by the king, Count Miklós Illésházy and László Hunyady. Due to the plague epidemic ravaging the country, the representatives of the estates assembled slowly, and their first session was not held until 2 May. The monarch arrived in Pozsony on the 18th, issued the royal charter on the 21st, and was ceremoniously crowned the following day.
