The Piarist author wrote the story of one of the most significant battles in the reconquest of Hungarian territories under Turkish rule at the encouragement of István Vedres, as he himself reveals. Lőrinc Rieder made the copperplate engraving of the battle scene based on a drawing by József Barzellini.
