The first Hungarian plant identification guide by Diószegi and Fazekas was published in 1807. It received a mixed reception from contemporaries and did not prove to be a bestseller. Nevertheless, the success of the work is demonstrated by the fact that it was used for almost a century. Diószegi published this work as a continuation of that one, but it is much rarer.
