... Melly a’ két magyar hazábann találtatható növevényeknek megesmerésére vezet, a’ Linné alkotmánya szerént. I-II. rész [bound together].
Debreczenbenn, 1807. Csáthy. XVI+608p.
The first Hungarian plant identification guide based on Linnaeus's system. The idea came from János Földi, but due to his early death, he was only able to complete the zoological section. Using his manuscripts, Sámuel Diószegi and his brother-in-law, Mihály Fazekas, began to create Hungarian botanical terminology. The reception by contemporaries was mixed, and the book did not prove to be a bestseller. The unsold copies remained in the basement of the parsonage (Diószegi was a Reformed pastor) for years. Seeing this, the authors abandoned the idea of a revised edition. Nevertheless, the success of the work is demonstrated by the fact that it was used for almost a century.
