... Kolumbatzer Mücken im Bannat, als ein Beytrag zur Naturgeschichte von Ungarn
Wien, 1795. gedruckt bey Alb. Ant. Patzowsky. (8)+100p.+1 coloured pl(s).
The Czech-born author taught at the medical faculty of the University of Pest. In his medical treatise, he writes about the Kolumbac fly, native to the southeastern border region of the country, in the southern part of the Banat, and the diseases it spreads. The fly species was named after the Serbian castle of Galambóc. The bite of this insect, which prefers wet places, was mainly deadly to animals, but it could also cause serious symptoms in humans. The work is extremely rare, and we have found no trace of it appearing at auction.
