43. Large, framed photo of Jan Drzewiecki(1823-1897), captain of the Polish Legion in Hungary.

His life fits into a novel: after the war of independence was defeated, he hid from the proceedings of the Austrian court-martial by assuming the identity of a deceased Austrian soldier. He was a patron of Blanka Teleki under the name József Meiszner (her name also appeared in his lawsuit). After his release, he established a family and worked for the Teleki family (he also managed the finances of the renowned Africa researcher, Sámuel Teleki). Gabriella Somkuti wrote about his life in detail in her study "Egy lengyel hazafi a magyar szabadságharcban. Meiszner József (1823–1897)".
