... Irodalmi és grafikai gyűjtemény a magyarországi szegények támogatására
Bp., 1982. SZETA. 151+(1)p.+21t. (silkscreen prints)
Considered the first Hungarian samizdat publication, issued by the Fund for the Support of the Poor (SZETA). Printed in 300 copies, of which 75 were numbered and contained artist-signed silkscreens. According to Ferenc Kőszeg’s recollections, about two-thirds of the run was confiscated by the police, making surviving copies extremely rare. Pagination and table of contents indicate four missing leaves (crossed out in the list of contents). According to the co-editor Gabriella Lengyel, four authors – Miklós Apáti, Ervin Lázár, Péter Vasadi, and Zsuzsa Vathy – withdrew after printing began; their poems were omitted, and their names erased. Lengyel provides a detailed account of the printing’s conspiratorial circumstances, estimating around eighty surviving copies. Our copy is unnumbered, but the artists sign the prints.
Signed by the illustrators. Original paper. Spine restored.
