38. László Csány (1790-1849), royal commissioner.
... Autograph signed letter to László Sellyei, chief judge of Muraköz.
He orders the grain to be harvested as soon as possible at the site of the ramparts to be built against the approaching Croats.
Csány’s task as royal commissioner was to protect the Drava line and keep an eye on the approaching Jelačić army. Although he was unable to prevent the outnumbered Croats from crossing the Drava, his merit in the orderly retreat and slowing down the enemy’s advance is undeniable.
