36. Öröm Miklós: Unio!
... Erdély Magyarhon egygyé lett: Minden bölcsnek üdvözlet! Szivböl ajánlva adom ki a’ nagy világnak, Édes jó testvér magyar, oláhnak. ~ sajátja.
Pesten, 1848. Trattner-Károlyi ny. (4)p.
A not particularly successful poem celebrating the union with Transylvania and proclaiming reconciliation with the Romanians, imbued with effusive gratitude towards King Ferdinand V for signing the April Laws. The text is pervaded by hostility towards the clergy – presumably Catholic priests – although the author offers no clear explanation. The poet is likely Miklós Öröm, named as publisher on the title page. Although unrecorded in the literature, a similar occasional poem by him appeared in Nagyvárad in 1849. The poem is signed “Minden pap czáfolója” (“Refuter of All Priests”).
Dimensions: 255 × 210 mm. Slightly stained.
