Sámuel Timon is the first representative of the great generation of Jesuit historians. In his work describing the Tisza River, he dedicates a whole chapter to the Tokaj wine region (De vino Tocaiano). It was first published in the same place in 1735, and then also printed in Csíksomlyó in 1736.
