A poetic description of the events of the so-called "cholera rebellion" that broke out in Zemplén County in July 1831. The strict measures taken due to the cholera epidemic caused riots, which then turned into a peasant uprising in the northeastern part of the country. The military was only able to suppress it by mid-August.
