After studying in Germany and the Netherlands, the author was a philosophy teacher and then rector of the college in Debrecen. His name is linked to the first Hungarian textbook written in the Cartesian spirit (Philosophia ad usum Scholarum praesertim Debrecinae applicata), which was published in Heidelberg in 1678.
