The author was a reformed pastor. Relying on hitherto unused Western sources, he tried to give a realistic picture of our country's history in his Hungarian historical work, rejecting the traditions of chronicle writing. The fact that it was also published in English indicates its popularity, mainly due to the European Zrínyi cult.
