Calligraphic manuscript of „Epiktétos kézikönyvecskéje...” (Epictetus’ Enchiridion...)

Edit Zigány was one of the most significant Hungarian book artists around the turn of the millennium. After her studies in Germany she taught at the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts at the invitation of György Haiman. A typeface of her own design, the Pannon Antiqua, is also associated with her name. She designed this volume at the request of the Móra Publishing House; it was published in 1991.

The item contains the complete text of the later publication, including the spine title, and even the prices of the two different versions. Altogether about 55 written pages, plus a title-page design and letter samples on three additional leaves. The artist worked on folded sheets, since the volume was printed in Japanese binding.
