175. Albert Wass (1908–1998), writer.
Autograph signed, typed letter to István Kristó Nagy Sr., addressed "Kedves Honfitársam" ("My Dear Compatriot").
At the beginning of the letter, he writes of his bitter experiences among emigrant Hungarians: "barely one in a thousand is willing to do anything, to sacrifice anything for his nation and homeland. The other 999 only serve their own selfish interests, and to ease their conscience now and then, they occasionally criticise those who try to do something." He then explains in detail what led him to found the Amerikai Magyar Szépmíves Czéh (Hungarian Fine Arts Guild of America).
