Dessewffy was the leader of the moderate conservatives, the "contemplating progressives", and Kossuth's political opponent. In connection with the death of his friend, Széchenyi urges the creation of a national pantheon. He suggests the Buda Hills as the location of the "üdvlelde" (a place to find salvation) to be established.
