167. Lajos Pósa (1850–1914), writer, editor.

Autograph letter to János Vajda, addressed "Kedves jó Vajda Úr" ("My Dear Mr. Vajda").

He joyfully informs him that he has gathered 30 subscribers in Szeged for Vajda’s newly published volumes. He asks him to send the books as soon as possible so that "the favourable effect of the fresh impression may also help their sale." He expresses hope of finding more buyers, then praises Vajda’s work at length: "I do not believe that there is anyone who clings with more enthusiastic devotion to the strong music of your lyre than I." At that time Pósa worked as assistant editor of the Szegedi Napló. In 1889 he left the city at the invitation of Singer and Wolfner to launch, with Elek Benedek, the first Hungarian children’s magazine Az én újságom (My Newspaper).
