165. Mihály Munkácsy (1844–1900), painter.
Autograph letter to Károly Telepy, addressed "Kedves Barátom" ("My Dear Friend").
He first writes about health matters. Telepy had suggested a cure in the Tátra, which Munkácsy was willing to try. He then explains that he is preparing a monumental work for the upcoming millennial celebrations. This painting was certainly one of his most famous works, Ecce homo. Below his signature he adds an interesting postscript: "It has been a long time since I last wrote such a long letter."
8 written pages, with addressed envelope enclosed.
