In 1822, during his trip to England with Széchenyi, the author studied horse breeding there, and based on his experiences, he decided to completely reorganise the famous stud farm founded by his grandfather and to auction off most of the horses. Several people attacked him for this, which prompted him to write the book. Along with Széchenyi's "Lovakrul", this is one of the most important works on the subject, which, in addition to providing a historical overview and a description of the domestic situation, also served as a practical guide.
