First German edition. István Werbőczy wrote down Hungarian law at the urging of the Diet and at the request of King Ulászló II. He then presented it at the Diet of 1514. Although his work did not become law, it was used as a handbook of Hungarian customary law until 1848. The translation was made by Ágoston Wagner, a doctoral candidate in law, who, as administrator of Pozsony, recommended his work to the city council. The last page contains a list of errors (vitia typographica).
Slightly worn, 18th-century leather. Some leaves slightly waterstained.
