Based on György Csipkés Komáromi’s text, Károli produced one of the most popular translations, which was first recommended for publication by the Margitta Reformed Synod after Komáromi's death in 1680. It was initially intended to be printed in Debrecen, and according to Sámuel Köleséri, even the ornate title page was ordered. This had been completed, which explains the year indicated on it. The work was finally published in Leiden in 4,200 copies. Out of these, 2,915 arrived at the Hungarian border in February 1719, where they were confiscated, and almost the entire shipment was destroyed. The leftover only reached Debrecen in 1789. The work includes "Szent Dávid-Soltári..." translated by Albert Molnár Szenczi with separate page numbering.
Slightly worn, 18th-century half leather. Spine restored, some leaves slightly stained. Title page and the last leaf restored.
