First published in 1842 in three volumes. Táncsics planned a periodical series but failed because the authorities started proceedings against the author. Therefore, he hid in Count Kázmér Batthyány’s manor in the Slavonski Brod. He was captured in March 1847 and then convicted. On 15 March 1848, he was freed from prison by the citizens of Pest.

Slightly worn, contemporary half leather. Spine richly gilt.
