The author of the Reformed doctrine studied at the University of Wittenberg and then in Geneva. He returned home in 1567 and became rector in Eger, then a Reformed pastor. In 1573, he became the first priest in Debrecen as the successor to Péter Méliusz Juhász.
According to the RMNy, there is only one large book decoration on the back of the title page and on the letters preceding and following the main part. In our copy (as well as in the two copies held by the National Széchényi Library, which are described as complete), there is no such decoration before the main part. Given that we are not aware of any volume in which this A6 sheet appears, its existence is doubtful.
It is extremely rare; the last time an incomplete copy of the book appeared at auction was before World War I.
20th-century half leather with marbled endpapers. Some leaves restored.
