This work by an English doctor presenting our country was first published at this time. It went through several editions and was even translated into German. In 1835, he met Polixénia Wesselényi, the wife of Baron László Bánffy, in Italy. Under her influence, he came to Hungary, married Polixénia, who had since divorced, and settled in Aranyosgyéres in Transylvania. János Paget, who became Hungarian, was also good friends with Miklós Wesselényi and István Széchenyi.
Slightly worn, gilt, original cloth. Leaves of the second volume lightly waterstained.
