Babits had a poem with this title, which was first published in Az Est on April 22, 1923, and later included in the poetry collection Sziget és tenger (Island and Sea) in 1925. The theme and imagery of the poem are echoed in this manuscript, with references to labyrinths, X-ray light, and Ariadne. Several lines of the 3rd and 4th stanzas appear almost verbatim here. By all indications, this represents the first form, the conceptual precursor of the published poem.
