This is the first Hungarian edition of the great German physician's work entitled "Makrobiotik oder die Kunst das Leben zu verlängern" (Macrobiotics or the Art of Prolonging Life). An abridged version was also published in Kolozsvár in the same year. It was translated by Mihály Kováts, the most prolific medical writer of his time and a corresponding member of the Hungarian Scientific Society from 1832. It was published in 1799 and again in 1825.
