124. Collection of Hungarian seal stamps from the 19-20th centuries.
The majority of the 43-piece collection (23) has the coats of arms of the nobility, including an episcopal, which, according to the owner, could have belonged to György Schopper, bishop of Rozsnyó. Several items (13) contain monograms (including one with Hebrew letters). The stamps of the post office of Nagysitke and of the Sopron warehouse of the Triebaumer winery in Ruszt are part of the collection, but perhaps the most interesting is the seal stamp of the „Pesti Céllövész Egylet” (Pest Target Shooting Club). The collection is a remarkable, unique group of objects varied in size, material and shape. Most consist of a wooden socket (but also an ivory) and a metal pressure head, oval or circular, polygonal and rectangular shapes. Their height ranges from 2 to 11 cm. The identification of the pieces with coat of arms requires further research.
