The author was professor of the medical faculty of the University of Buda and, from 1793, its rector, while also practising as a clinical physician. He was an enthusiastic advocate of Hungarian-language scientific education and medical terminology. Csokonai even dedicated an ode to him upon the publication of his work “A borbélyi tanítások...”. Like the first edition issued two years earlier, the present work is exceptionally rare; to our knowledge, no complete copy has appeared at auction in roughly the past quarter century.
