The author’s first and only collection of poems. Published in just 200 copies, it was made possible through the financial support of the poet’s aunt and his former Piarist schoolmates, under the harsh conditions of the immediate post-war period.
With the following inscription: “Rába Györgynek baráti szeretettel Pilinszky János” (“To György Rába, with friendly affection, János Pilinszky”). At the time of the book’s publication, both author and dedicatee were members of the literary circle that had formed around Újhold.
