The work on the history of the golden wool was published in Hungarian in 1794 titled „A’ gyapjas vitézek”.
Inscribed by the author: „Antonio Hoffmanno Capitaneo Amico suo Amicissimo Auctor Libri”. Beyond all doubt, the recipient of the inscription could not be identified. Considering that Dugonics was teaching at the University of Nagyszombat, which was transferred to Buda, at that time, it is conceivable that the recommendation was made to Antal Hoffmann, city councillor. However, a Dugonics dedication is definitely an incomparable rarity.
