Contemporary maroquin. A masterpiece of the Gottermayer bindery (gilt sign on the inside of the back cover). The geometrically framed boards are decorated with brown and red leather appliqués covering the strips made of gilt lenias, which are embellished with the impression of gilt tools showing stylized plant ornaments. On the inside of the covers, the leather covering and the structure of the patterns are similar, but the motifs are different. The French-style endpapers are attached with green silk. Gilt inner edges and a tricolour bookmark ribbon enhance the text block’s artistic design. A book-shaped leather-covered paper case with false bands protects the item.
