About The Event
The auction of the Hereditas Antiquarium with 199 special items is held in the Festetics Palace. The attentively selected lots include inscribed Avante-Garde linocuts, documents, manuscripts, the first French edition of the richly illustrated description of Japan and several items related to obstetrics and gynaecology, with an extremely scarce autograph writing of the „saviour of mothers”, Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis. Among the other literary rarities, it contains Ferenc Kazinczy’s autographed poem, as well as János Arany’s unknown letter. One of the most exciting pieces of the historical manuscripts is a printed document of the Pest Kaszinó with signatures of Count István Széchenyi and Gábor Döbrentei.
The items will be on view in our shop at 1052 Budapest, Vitkovics Mihaly utca 12, between November 17 and December 1 2022, on weekdays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
