The first Hungarian edition of the English philosopher’s fundamental pedagogical work, and an early landmark of Hungarian educational literature. Originally published in English in 1693 under the title Some Thoughts Concerning Education, the work was translated by Ádám Székely from the French edition prepared by Pierre Coste. In his educational principles, Locke was an important predecessor of Rousseau, advocating natural education that takes account of the child’s individuality and encourages independent activity.
