86. Teleki Sándor, gr(óf): Emlékeim.

... Irta ~. Kiadta a Petőfi-Társaság. I-II. kötet [bound together].
Bp., (1879-1880.) Aigner. (8)+259+(8)+290p.
Inscribed by the author on the title page: “Paulay Edének Teleki Sándor Koltón april 4én 1880.” (To Ede Paulay, Sándor Teleki, Koltó, 4 April 1880). The recipient, an actor and at the time of the inscription director-general of the National Theatre, received not only the author’s dedication but also an exceptionally lively and humorous autograph text facing it, whose numerous references make it an important historical and theatrical document. Teleki, known among his contemporaries as the “wild count”, fought in the Hungarian War of Independence as a honvéd colonel. One of Petőfi’s closest friends, he hosted the poet and Júlia Szendrey during their honeymoon at his castle in Koltó. These two autograph texts make the present copy one of the most remarkable items in the sale.
Richly gilt, contemporary cloth. Spine restored.
