Catalogue of the exhibition held by the artist in December 1902 at the Mercur Palace in Budapest. Inscribed on the front cover: “Dr. Ullmann Urnak tisztelete jeléül Rippl-Rónai József 1903. febr. 8.” (To Dr Ullmann, as a token of respect, József Rippl-Rónai, 8 February 1903.) The recipient, Dr Antal Ullmann, was a noted chief physician of the hospital at Kaposvár, whose daughter was portrayed by the artist that same year in the painting “Piros sapkás Babi” (Babi in a Red Bonnet). A friendship later developed between them; Ullmann himself also sat for the painter and owned several of his works.
