The earliest work of legal philosophy to appear in Hungarian was a translation of the second volume of the Viennese professor's book Positiones de lege naturali, published by Sámuel Dienes. Dienes studied at the University of Heidelberg and then became an official at the Transylvanian Court Chancellery.
The textbook was used in Hungarian legal education until the Compromise. This is the first Hungarian-language edition; the first volume was not published.
