Vitkovics Mihály, a poet and translator of Serbian origin, was a central figure of Reform Era literary life. His house served as a literary salon. He belonged to Kazinczy’s closest circle of friends, together with Pál Szemere and István Horvát — Kazinczy’s “Pest triad.” No copy of this occasional poem is traced in auction records.
