458. Medgyesi Pál (ford.): Praxis Pietatis.
... Az az : Kegyesség- Gyakorlás. ...
Löcsén, 1641. Brever Lörintz. (36)+(16)+978+(18)p.+1 folding appx(s). Two leaves (pp. 697–698, 719–720) replaced by copies.
The fourth Hungarian (second Lőcse) edition of Praxis pietatis. The text, edited by Pál Medgyesi based on the latest English edition, reflects the translator's careful corrections throughout. Lewis Bayly's original work was first published in 1611. Translated into several languages, it has been published many times. It has also been published several times in Hungarian. The work, published with its own title page, "Minden esztendöre szolgáló örök Calendárium, és Cisio Janus magyáról" (Perpetual Calendar for Every Year, and Cisio Janus's Hungarian), has a separate page number and is known to exist in public collections, so it is clear that the publisher distributed it in this form. The RMNy does not treat it as a separate publication, but from an antiquarian point of view, it can clearly be considered as such, and our copy is a publisher's collation (see Borda: 7013).
Blindstamped, contemporary leather. Spine slightly worn.
RMNy 1895.; RMK I. 720.
