The Virgin of Radna is a seventeenth-century devotional image preserved at Máriaradna in Arad County and regarded as miraculous. According to legend, when the chapel housing the image was burned by the Ottomans in 1695, the image survived the flames unharmed, becoming only blackened. The pilgrimage church at Radna, cared for by the Franciscans, remains one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in the region, and believers attribute numerous miraculous healings and deliverances to the image. Some of the stories associated with the miraculous image are also depicted in the volume's charming woodcuts. The present copy belongs to the second edition of the work, first published at Buda in 1762.
