The Antwerp printing house, founded in 1555 by the French-born Christoffel Plantin, was the most significant and longest-lived Dutch workshop. His most famous edition was the eight monumental (folio) volumes of the five-language Bible published between 1569 and 1572. The business, carried on by Plantin's son-in-law, Jan Moretus, operated until 1865.
