This work by an unknown author was first published in 1805. Some believe that it was translated from the German original by János Kömlei, a Reformed pastor. It has also been suggested that he may have been from Szeged, because the title page of a similar book entitled Néma mester (1802), also marked with the monogram S** E**, states: "Írattatott Szegeden" (Written in Szeged).
