The renowned Pest-based "private physician" taught at the Reformed College in Debrecen from 1768, then studied at universities abroad. From 1784, he served as the national chief physician. The memorial volume published on the occasion of his death contains his biography, the funeral speeches of Reformed bishop Gábor Báthori and professor Gerzson Fodor of Nagykőrös, as well as poems. This copy bears notes by former owner Árpád Ponori Thewrewk; in 1876, he translated into Hungarian the Latin epigram on Karacs’s engraved title vignette and inked it above Cseh-Szombati’s oval portrait.
